Big Brothers Big Sisters is proud to continue to partner with local Electrical Companies to launch our Food From Power initiative!
Food from Power is a partnership with local electric businesses that will help our agency support the growing need of our programs, and support Big Brothers Big Sisters in the purchasing and making of meals and snacks for our programs that are homemade in our office.
Food is something our agency has always really valued in our programs. We believe there is something about feeding kids—especially a homemade meal—that goes beyond just making sure they aren’t hungry. Sitting down to something that someone has taken the time to make for you can make you feel cared for, and we want the kids who come through our doors and participate in our programs to feel that.
And we feed a lot of kids! Since the program began in 2023 up to June 2026, we have served over 12,698 snacks and 8,467 homemade lunches to children in Lethbridge and the surrounding area. Every one of those meals and snacks represents a child we had the opportunity to welcome, feed and spend time with.
